My Kitchen Transformation

Those of you following my home remodel have seen the extensive amount of work that’s been going on. Blood, sweat and tears ya’ll!  The kitchen is completely transformed. Layout, flooring, cabinets, appliances, tile… the works. My husband and I gutted the old kitchen flooring ourselves (it was ceramic tile… which means a lot of sanding was involved). We also installed the entire backsplash tile ourselves. The flooring and cabinets were installed by pros.

I wanted to go for a clean look that still had touches of mid-century modern and natural accents.

Here’s the BEFORE:  http://kufrilife.com/2015/12/26/existing-kitchen/

And here’s the Now 🙂

Gorgeous white oak flooring, white cabinets with clean, modern silver handles, beautiful Fireclay tile (Wave) and Kitchen Aid appliances helped me achieve the look I wanted (yes, we paid for every single thing).

I added a tulip table and recovered Parsons chairs in my Raw Solids in Sodalite fabric. We love to eat breakfast here… It’s bright and inspired.

I’m really rough with table linens, but I love using different KUFRI table linens because the natural fibers get better with every wash (and I can take my pick of the litter 😉 Looks great with earthy ceramics from YHOM.

Earthy pottery is a big must-have for me. The rougher it looks the better!

The Making of Rex in Blush

To produce Rex in Blush, I worked closely with the dyers to ensure we get the perfect neutral shade of a timeless nude-blush. Seeing it come to life from un-dyed natural yarn to a complete fabric reinforces my passion for hand-dyed and handwoven textiles. I hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes look of the dyeing of Rex in Blush…
